RESPONSIBLE TO:    Headteacher  

GRADE:                             L7

HOURS:                            37 hours per week term time only 

About this role:  We are looking to employ a Designated safeguarding Lead to become part of our team and Crawley Green Infant School.  This role is key to developing an effective safeguarding culture across the school. Taking the lead responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters arising at the school and supporting all other staff in dealing with any child protection concerns that may arise.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Managing Referrals: 
  • Raising Awareness: 
  • Preventing Radicalisation: 
  • Training 
  • Safer Recruitment:  
  • Audits, evidence and reporting: 
  • Pupil Outcomes:
  • Working with others being a point of contact with the three safeguarding partners. Working proactively with key staff within the school and on matters relating to safety and safeguarding.  
  • You will need to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, be aware that all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop and  participate in training and other learning activities as required and to participate in appraisal and professional development.

    All support staff are part of a whole school team.  They are required to support the values and ethos of the school and school priorities as defined in the School Improvement Plan.  This will mean focussing on the needs of colleagues, parents and pupils and being flexible in a busy pressurised environment.
