Discover what we can offer you
Would you like to
work nine days but be paid for ten? What
really sets The Highcrest Academy apart is our teachers: their passion drives
our progress and transforms the way we think and work and in return, we are
committed to their well-being and mental health. We understand the pressures that working in
education can place on individuals and are always looking for ways to improve
working conditions and offer our staff incentives that are not always available
in education.
From September
2024, we will be implementing a 9-day working fortnight for all staff. The
premise is simple, you will work nine days but be paid for ten, using the tenth
day to ‘reset’, and thus giving you the opportunity to manage your work-life
balance more effectively. You will also
enjoy a Wellness Day to relax and unwind every year in addition to school
holidays.
In addition, we
offer significant investment in your professional development and the
possibility of onsite accommodation if you need to relocate. You can also
expect facilities that are second to none, including an excellent canteen, gym
and coffee shop, but above all, you will relish the satisfaction of
transforming futures and helping our students overcome obstacles to experience
life to the full.
Take your career to the next level
As the only all
ability academy in Buckinghamshire, we do whatever it takes to tackle
disadvantage and provide an outstanding education to everyone. Our innovative
curriculum is as diverse as our student community and is purpose-designed to
release the potential of academic high-flyers and those with SEN alike. You can join us as you take your career to the next level.
Explore the opportunity
Can you bring industry and business to life within the
classroom? We have strong and established links with local
industry and international companies to enthuse our students about the global
business environment. Come and be part of it!
We are seeking to appoint an excellent Business Teacher to
join our Business Studies and IT department. Committed to raising
attainment, you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed to
the highest levels. You will bring new ideas, new concepts and new
experiences for our students. You will have autonomy in your
teaching and be provided with an outstanding CPD package for personal
development. You will be an aspiring middle leader and outstanding
practitioner.
Business Studies courses for KS4 and 5 are offered within
the Business and IT department. There is an experienced Head of Department who
leads a team of committed and established specialists. The school offers a
broad range of Business courses and has a particularly strong and popular Sixth
Form Business Studies programme. The number of Sixth Form students taking the
subject has grown year on year. Our recently opened Sixth Form
centre offers state of the art facilities. It is used extensively by
students studying Business Studies and IT in Key Stage 5. We have an
established Young Enterprise Club as well as the Business and Computing
lunchtime club.
In addition, there is the possibility of a TLR for the right
candidate who wishes to develop to middle management. If you wish to
