Batley Multi Academy Trust’s sole purpose is to provide a great education for Primary and Secondary learners throughout a local family of schools. The Trust is passionately committed to the communities of Batley, Birstall, Dewsbury and our surrounding areas, serving our young people and their families in order to secure excellent educational outcomes, partnered with high aspirations. Batley Multi Academy Trust is a growing trust which currently comprises Batley Girls’ High School; Upper Batley High School; Batley Grammar School; Healey Junior, Infant and Nursery School; Field Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School and Manorfield Infant and Nursery School. We provide high quality education for all young people regardless of their background or starting point, coupled with first-class care, guidance and support. The effective collaboration across our family of schools enables us to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to deliver academic and pastoral excellence in every school. Our trust family of schools embrace the same overall ethos, vision and values, whilst maintaining their own unique characters.

Batley Girls’ High School is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational Headteacher to lead our highly successful school. Batley Girls’ High School is an 11-19 secondary school, with a sixth form. The school achieved an Outstanding judgment with Ofsted in 2013.  ‘Students achieve exceptionally well in this outstanding academy. They make rapid and sustained progress’ (Ofsted, 2013). Batley Girls’ High School has strong outcomes over time, is popular in the local community and is oversubscribed. Every year appeals are undertaken as there are more applicants than there are places for this highly successful, community centered school.

Batley Girls’ has an ethos based around every opportunity for excellence. Respect for self, for others and for learning is at the core of everything we do. We are dedicated to investing in our staff and passionately committed to their development, providing a supportive environment where people can truly grow and flourish.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, forward thinking Headteacher to lead on the strategic direction of the school, on this next phase of our school improvement journey. This post is an exciting opportunity for an existing headteacher or an experienced deputy headteacher looking for the next step in their career. The Trust and Governing Board are looking for an inspirational, dynamic, student focussed individual who will successfully lead Batley Girls’ High School in this stage of its development, and be a committed member of the headteacher network group in a growing, high performing Trust.

Batley Multi Academy Trust and Batley Girls’ High School are highly committed to the continual improvement of the quality of education and ultimately excellent outcomes, both academically and more widely, for all our young people. The new Headteacher will be at the heart of this school improvement work, working closely with our Trust team, other school leaders, colleagues, families and most importantly with our young people themselves.

This is an opportunity to join a supportive, forward thinking Trust, who in return for your commitment and hard work, will support you to achieve your own career goals and aspirations.
