Batley Multi Academy Trust’s sole purpose is to provide a great education for Primary and Secondary learners throughout a local family of schools. The Trust is passionately committed to the communities of Batley, Birstall, Dewsbury and our surrounding areas, serving our local learners and their families in order to secure excellent educational outcomes, partnered with high aspirations. Batley Multi Academy Trust currently comprises Batley Girls’ High School, Upper Batley High School, Batley Grammar School, Healey Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Field Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School and Manorfield Infant and Nursery School. We provide high quality education for all young people. This collaboration enables us to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to ensure academic and pastoral excellence throughout all of our schools, with all schools embracing the same overall ethos and values, whilst maintaining their own unique characters.
Batley Girls’ High School is an 11-19 school and we are very proud of our achievements: ‘Students achieve exceptionally well in this outstanding academy. They make rapid and sustained progress’ (Ofsted, 2013). We have an ethos based around the ideas of Achievement, Respect and Transformation (ART). Respect for self, for others and for learning is at the core of everything we do.
We have an exciting opportunity for a number of former students to join our Aspire to Educate programme.
The Aspire to Educate course consists of 30% subject support and teaching, 30% Planning and Preparation Time (PPA), 25% SEND support and 15% CPD. The course is attached to a specific curriculum area based on your own qualifications and background and attached to the SEND team and to a pastoral team. There is the possibility to train at a primary or secondary school of your choice within Batley Multi Academy Trust.
Qualifications gained at the end of the course (July 2024) are CACHE L3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (32 UCAS points) & the Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification with Leeds Trinity University. A free school lunch will be provided & a bursary is available if applicable.
There is a requirement of GCSE Maths and English Language 4+ to be considered for the course.
Follow-on pathways upon completion of the course include foundation courses into Education Studies, any degree course, apprenticeship, Cover Supervisor in any school setting, HLTA in any school setting or a Learning Mentor in any school setting.
