About this Role

VACANCY FOR A READING CHAMPION AT STRATTON UPPER SCHOOL

Salary: Grade 4, points 3-5. £19,588.80 - £20,246.15 actual earnings (£22,737 - £23,500 FTE)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time + 5 training days)


We are looking for motivated and organised person to champion Reading & Literacy across the school, whilst managing the library resources. You will assist with multiple initiatives within the school relating to reading and literacy, ensuring our students reach their full potential and find a love of reading.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about literacy and appreciates the benefit library facilities have, both the school and our students.


The Opportunity

  • Effectively supervise the library during open times and support students, interactively, with independent study.
  • Consistently maintain and catalogue resources.
  • Create a visually stimulating and appropriate learning environment.
  • Champion reading programmes and coordinate whole school reading activities.
  • Lead small reading groups and literacy-based interventions.

The ideal candidate

  • Has previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Highly organised and confident in their work.
  • Enthusiastic about literacy and reading.
  • Has a positive and enthusiastic approach towards work.
