TEACHER OF ENGLISH
Main Scale or UPS
Full-Time
Required from September 2024
Cromwell Community College is a ‘Good’ school, which aspires to be an outstanding school. We look to our English Faculty to be a driving force towards this aspiration.
We are looking to appoint an inspirational English teacher to join our
successful team at Cromwell Community College.
The successful candidate will be teaching across KS3 and KS4, and
possibly KS5. There may also be opportunities
to teach drama in both KS3 and KS4.
We are a popular,
growing and successful school. Pupils enjoy their English lessons and staff are
hardworking, enthusiastic and committed. We are a well-established,
collaborative department who aim to be outstanding role models of English to
our pupils. We are an outward looking team with a keen interest in up to date
pedagogical ideas and methods. An array of subject specific CPD is offered to
our department to build our subject knowledge. Many extra-curricular
opportunities are provided for our pupils to build a love and passion for our
subject. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, creative and well-qualified
colleague who will be committed to ensuring the highest levels of achievement
for our pupils at Cromwell Community College.
We are a growing,
successful and oversubscribed school, striving for Outstanding. We recently become an all-through school, the
first in Cambridgeshire, and have pupils from age 4 – 18. The addition of our primary phase, over the
coming years, will also provide lots of additional opportunities for staff to
work in the primary phase as well as the secondary and Post-16. It is imperative that we ensure our pupils
access a curriculum which is relevant and ambitious throughout their journey at
Cromwell. This is an exciting
opportunity for someone who is ambitious and wants to work collaboratively with
the primary phase in addition to further improve GCSE and A-Level outcomes.
If you are enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate about English
and recognise its importance for the development of all pupils, and will strive
to provide excellent results in our already successful department, we would
like to hear from you. Cromwell
Community College offers the chance to join a strong and experienced team and
for you to develop your skills and enhance your career development through a
wealth of CPD opportunities which is a particular strength of the Trust.
We can offer you an excellent
opportunity for career progression both within the college, and the Trust, as
well as a supportive professional environment with a highly visible and
ambitious leadership team.
