About this Role

We seek to appoint a dynamic and ambitious individual to lead and develop our highly regarded Music Department. The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring our students and be a team player who can motivate and work collaboratively with our established music teachers to achieve exceptional results inside and outside of the classroom. 

You will be a first class musician with an ability to teach Music at KS3, 4 and 5. You will be dedicated to the promotion of musical life in the school and the wider community. A commitment to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school is a prerequisite for this role.  

Main Areas of Accountability/Responsibility:

  • Overall responsibility for all Key Stages 

  • Design and implementation of curriculum intent for the subject area which challenges, motivates and inspires students

  • Overall responsibility for curriculum, schemes of work, assessments, monitoring and intervention

  • Raise the standards of student achievement in the curriculum area

  • To oversee the analysis of data at all Key Stages

  • The effective line management of designated staff

Tring School is very popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages.  It is a mixed Church of England comprehensive school with over 1500 students on roll including approximately 330 in the Sixth Form.  Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year.  The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community.  We have a talented team of staff who are ambitious to become outstanding in all areas of our work.
