About this Role

Welcome to The Cooper School, where we work within the local community to prepare and motivate all of our students to develop their full potential as individuals and as members of society.

Our students, and their parents and carers, have very high expectations for learning – they know that good educational outcomes can make an important difference to their lives. Our students also want to learn in surroundings which are safe, happy and supportive. They need an environment which helps them be the best version of themselves, wherever they start, and wherever they’re going.

Every decision we make, and every idea we implement, is designed to improve our students’ opportunities and outcomes - both in learning new skills, and in developing as people.

Please take a look at our school vision and ethos, which is available here: https://www.thecooperschool.co.uk/about-us/welcome

We are now seeking to appoint a Teacher of Business and Economics for a September 2024 start.

The successful candidate will have excellent teaching skills and the ability to inspire and motivate The Cooper School’s students to achieve outstanding results.

We can offer you:

  • the opportunity to work with experienced and value driven colleagues;

  • an innovative and supportive working environment;

  • caring, well behaved and motivated students

  • a commitment to Continual Professional Learning and Development;

  • strong links with and support from the wider trust;

  • a vibrant and diverse environment where everyone is valued.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed - we would encourage you to book a visit to experience, for yourself, the ethos and feel of our school. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the role in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact us on the details provided.

The Cooper School and the Acer Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism; all staff must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (one from current/last employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role.
