Head of Art (with specific responsibility for KS4 Achievement)
Required
for September 2024
We
are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Art to further
strengthen our Art and Design Faculty. Applications are invited
from ambitious, inspirational and talented middle
leaders or teachers who believe they have the skills, passion and determination
to lead our academy Art education to outstanding. The successful candidate will
be an expert in Art, have a proven track record of successful
outcomes and will have the knowledge and skills to successfully develop KS4 achievement.
Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary
academy in the south of the city, serving 11-16 year old students. Our ambition
statement is ‘Shaping Lives, Building Ambition and Igniting Futures’ and every
decision we make and action we take is to ensure our students excel as young
adults. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular
programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work
together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students
to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into
adulthood.
The
successful candidate will work alongside the Director of Faculty for Art and Design. The level of collaboration within the team is
exceptional, making it an ideal role for either an experienced leader or a new
leader: either will thrive in an environment where professional development,
training and support is the backbone of our success. The successful candidate may be required to teach some aspects of Design Technology at KS3 (Food Technology or D&T). There is no requirement for you to have done this before, as full training will be provided. If you require further information about this please do not hesitate to contact us.
