About this Role

We are seeking to appoint flexible, reliable, and responsible committed invigilators to support our exams team during key assessment periods.

The main examination season runs from early May to the end of June, with working hours varying depending on the exam schedule. In addition,  mock examinations take place at various points throughout the academic year and and invigilator support is also required during these times.

As an invigilator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the examination process and creating an environment where students can perform at their best. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up examination venues
  • Checking and distributing examination materials
  • Assisting candidates before and during exams
  • Actively supervising students throughout the examination
  • Collecting and returning completed exam papers and materials
  • Addressing any queries or issues that arise during the exam

Experience in the education sector would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Please note that invigilation is a seasonal role and this is an open-ended vacancy. As such, there may be a delay before your application is reviewed. We appreciate your patience and interest in joining our team. Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should suitable candidates be found.

Parrs Wood High School is a thriving and popular secondary school in South Manchester with a richly diverse and truly comprehensive student body which has been judged by Ofsted to be good in all areas. We are a member of the Greater Manchester Education Trust; Together, we create lives of opportunity.

Parrs Wood High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.
