About this Role

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Law & Criminology. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning and share a passion for the subject.


The governors of this oversubscribed "outstanding" school are seeking to appoint the position of Head of Law and Criminology. We welcome candidates from all religious and non-religious backgrounds. You will join the school at an exciting time as we prepare for the development of a brand-new school opening in January 2026. You will also be joining the school as we celebrate a progress score of +0.51 (2023) and will join a staff body who support the school motto “We are all made for greatness.”

Cardinal Newman is a highly successful 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school set in 37-acre grounds in the pleasant outskirts of Coventry. In our most recent Ofsted visit, staff morale was identified as being high and we are fully committed to the positive wellbeing of our staff. The report April 2024 noted: " Pupils and students are a pleasure to speak to. They are proud of their school and value the opportunities they are given. Pupils feel safe and cared for at this school. The positive relationships between staff and pupils are a key factor in the school’s success."There is a vibrant staff social body with calendared events to ensure that staff can meet and socialise outside of the classroom.
