Do you enjoy general grounds maintenance responsibilities?

Are you familiar with using small industrial, electrical, garden and mechanical equipment?

Do you like the thought of working in a busy and friendly school environment where no two days are the same?

If so, then this role of Groundsperson could be for you.

You’ll love this job if you are a motivated team player who can also work independently when required.  You will be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues whilst working alongside children.  You must have a clean, valid driving licence and ideally be prepared to learn how to tow a trailer, using our vehicles.

A basic IT understanding is required (outlook emails and some basic data inputting) alongside a willingness to learn new gardening skills, including the safe use of equipment and horticultural products.

Are you a morning person?  Preferred hours will be Monday to Friday 0600 – 1400 (1330 finish on Fridays) with a 30-minute unpaid break.  Some flexibility would be appreciated and can be reciprocated.

The Grounds Team works as part of our wider Trust Property Services Team; we’re a friendly bunch who support one another.  In winter months the Grounds Team are campus heroes, undertaking early morning gritting work to keep everyone safe.   If you would like to visit us to see our impressive 43-acre campus and find out more about this role, please contact Mark Pinfold – Head Groundsperson -  mark.pinfold@tdet.education who would be delighted to introduce you to his team and answer any questions you may have about this great opportunity.  We look forward to meeting you!

By joining our team, you can enjoy benefits such as a generous pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, free tea and coffee, free access to onsite gym, progression and continuous development opportunities, free and confidential employee assistance programme and mental health first aiders.
