About Henlow Church of England Academy
Henlow Church of England Academy was officially opened by Lord Runcie, then Bishop of St. Albans, in May 1976. The School converted to Academy status on 1st April 2012 and has now moved to secondary education. The School is approached by a fine drive and stands in parkland which was once part of Henlow Grange.
The school has recently undergone extensive refurbishment to provide a full GSCE curriculum. This includes a large floodlit MUGA, 5 new science laboratories, a large auditorium, graphic room, textiles room, a new food technology room and computer suite. The catchment area of the school covers the Parishes of Henlow (including Henlow Camp), Clifton, Langford and Meppershall.
We work very closely with the five feeder schools located in those villages, from whom we receive most of our children.
The school commitment to learning extends to staff as well as student: there is a well-developed structure for ECT's and other new members of staff, and a strong culture of ongoing professional development among our teaching and support staff. We are continually looking to develop innovative approached to learning with an increasing focus on collaborative learning.

We aim to provide a caring, safe, happy environment in which children’s learning can be nurtured; and in which all staff can work effectively as part of a friendly and supportive team.
