Located in the city of Luton, Bedfordshire, Icknield High School is a secondary academy, with a specialist status in art. Although the school has no sixth form, it has around 1450 pupils aged 11-16 in a co-educational setting, making it considerably larger than the average school of its type. Icknield School has an extremely culturally diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in the school’s student intake. Although the vast majority of teaching take place in school, a small number of students do make use of local off-site provision for particular subjects or needs.

“Parents, staff and pupils speak highly of the school’s work to develop pupils’ confidence and promote their well-being. This is supported by the positive comments received, particularly the views expressed in Ofsted’s online questionnaire to parents. Parents praise the way the school knows its pupils.
