Ivel Valley Special School is a thriving learning community where pupils are happy and engaged.
Head Teacher’s Welcome
I am proud to lead this thriving and growing learning community that provides a high standard of education for children, young people and young adults from across Central Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. Every child and young person that attends Ivel Valley School or College has a EHCP.
We are an innovative and inclusive school, where the pupils are at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils are educated alongside their peers in classes that are arranged by pupils’ age, not separated by the nature of their impairments.
Our college provides sixth form students with a nurturing but ambitious learning environment and is the perfect stepping stone between school and adult life or further education. We are very proud of our offering!
Joint working is a significant strength of our school; we work with a number of agencies, including the NHS and social care, to ensure that our learners achieve the best possible outcomes.
Our last Ofsted inspection (May 2018) found that we remained a good school and one that is committed to establishing itself as a ‘Centre of Excellence’.

Our vision is for Ivel Valley School and College is to be a recognised Centre of Excellence.
We will be leading practitioners in the special education of children and young people between the ages of 3 and 19. We will be the school of choice for pupils, parents and staff.
