About Katherines Primary Academy
On behalf of the staff and children, welcome to Katherines Primary Academy and Nursery.
We are a thriving Primary School in a small estate in Harlow and a school that the staff, children, parents and myself are incredibly proud of. Our children display excellent learning behaviours, they embrace each new learning opportunity building on prior knowledge and developing new skills, within a challenging curriculum.
Since coming into post, as Head of School in September 2017, I, along with my dedicated team, ensure that children's well being and voice are at the heart of what we do. We are extremely proud of our academic results, above National Standards in all subjects, both in 2018 and 2019, pre COVID. We believe that every child’s learning and development is as individual as they, at Katherines Primary Academy children GROW in our care. Our commitment to each child is that they will leave us as Global citizens, Resilient learners, Outstanding achievers and Well-rounded empowered individuals. This coupled with our '100 things at Katherines' is designed to ensure that we are shaping our children's futures in the most positive way possible. We are confident that our children are equipped to face new challenges in the modern world, ready for their next stage of education in their respective secondary schools and beyond.
We know that the first few years in your child's schooling are fundamental in establishing a positive attitude to learning and being successful in the wider world. Our Early Years (Nursery and Reception) department is a well-equipped, high quality provision which sparks curiosity and engagement right from your child's first few moments in school.
Our website aims to give you a small window into our school life; the site is updated regularly to provide as much information as possible for our parent community. We hope that you enjoyed navigating your way around our website and are pleasantly surprised by what you find.
