St. Mary’s VA CofE Lower is a successful village school sited in the centre of the beautiful village of Clophill where parents, pupils, staff, governors, as well as members of the local community, work together to provide a nurturing and enriching educational experience for every child.

We are a Values school, teaching and reinforcing twenty-two core values over a two year cycle. 

These values are reflected in our ethos and are shared with and embraced by the local community.

Our core aims are to ensure that every child at St. Mary’s is happy and able to achieve their full potential during their time with us and we have several systems in place to ensure that parents can work alongside us to achieve these goals.  We encourage parents to work with us as much as possible, through reading at home, helping in school, supporting school activities, joining our truly amazing Friends of St. Mary’s (P.T.A.) and just simply keeping us informed of any important aspects in their child’s life.

We also work very closely together with other lower schools in the area as well as our middle and upper school.  This collaborative approach is in place to provide a successful learning journey for every child.
