About Vale Academy Trust
The Vale Academy Trust comprises nine church and community schools based in the South Oxfordshire towns of Wantage and Abingdon; two secondary schools and seven primary schools, none of which are more than 10 miles apart.

In 2013 the Vale Academy Trust led the way in modelling collaboration, being the first in the UK to see church schools and community schools coming together, whilst retaining their own distinctive character. All share a common vision and set of goals and targets, with skilled professionals working both within their own schools and across other Trust schools to bring about truly collaborative school improvement.
This has already resulted in many exciting joint projects and initiatives and the Vale Academy Trust Promise - to 'Involve, Engage, Enrich and Inspire'. This reinforces our ambition to offer each young person a breadth of experience through which they will find and forge their talents, whilst they learn in forward thinking, inspirational schools with skilled and motivated teachers determined to secure the best outcomes for each child.
The Department for Education has approved the Vale Academy Trust as a Sponsoring Academy Trust. Our newest school, St. John's CE Primary Academy on the Wellington Gate housing development in Grove, opened to Nursery and Reception age children last September. This will be followed by St John's CE Secondary Academy opening in 2025 close by, thereby offering the first 'all through' school experience in the locality.
